Welcome to KidWind Offshore Wind Academy: a STEM learn and earn opportunity in Buzzards Bay, MA from July 13 to 18, 2025.

We’re excited that you’re interested in our summer program designed to introduce teachers and students to offshore wind energy. Through guest speakers, hands-on classroom activities, and field trips, participants will gain valuable insights into this growing field.

Program Highlights may include:

  • Guided tours of renewable energy facilities at Mass Maritime
  • Visit to the Wind Energy Terminal in New Bedford
  • Visit to the Carpenter’s Union Training Center (North Atlantic States Carpenters Training Fund)
  • Visit to research labs in Woods Hole
  • A tour of a steel rolling facility in Middleboro
  • A trip to the Blade Testing Facility in Boston

These field trips will be complemented by classroom learning, covering topics such as wind energy fundamentals, design and drafting principles, material sciences, and blade testing.

There is no cost to attend the program.
